Are you an ambitious volleyball athlete from Manawatū, ready to compete on a national or international stage? This program offers top-tier training, competition opportunities, and the support needed to help you reach your full potential.
As a part of MRVA’s 2024-2027 Programme Pathway, we will be selecting the following age groups to represent the region at Volleyball New Zealand’s Inter-Provencial Championships:
U17 Girls- born in 2009 and 2010 – can’t turn 17 in 2025
U19 Girls- born in 2008 and 2007 can’t turn 19 in 2025
U17 Boys-born in 2009 and 2010 – can’t turn 17 in 2025
U19 Boys- born in 2008 and 2007 can’t turn 19 in 2025
The 2025 Championship will be hosted in Kilbirnie, Wellington at Akau Tangi Sports Centre across King’s Birthday weekend, 31 May- 2 June.
VNZ’s IPC event is exclusively available to affiliated regional association appointed teams. This event allows the regional association to select age group athletes to compete at a national performance tournament. As Manawatu Regional Volleyball Association is developing our competitive pathway, we are committed to fostering development and creating opportunities for our youth athletes, while building the capacity and capabilities of resources.
2025 Programme
Trials: 26 April Massey University Teaching Gym- players will be notified Sunday 27 April
Trainings: 1-2x week trainings 28 April- 29 May
League: PNVB Monday Term 2
Competitions: Central Kings and Queens May 3 and IPC 31 May- 2 June
Cost:$750 for traveling athletes- includes trainings, tournements and travel costs (see details in info sheet below)
Extended Season: teams with interest will have the opportunity to extend the season with additional local tournaments through terms 2&3. This will be discussed further with coaches and teams once selections are made. As club teams may take the lead in this portion of the year.
