What referee development is about

Referee Development provides an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery and enjoyment of the game of volleyball for all players, coaches and participants.

Refereeing in volleyball delivers consistent opportunities to support the competition and events you are involved and is a great way to give back to the game after you have finished playing.

Refereeing provides the chance for our members to utilise and develop people skills, and pursue a challenging path that provides opportunities from local levels right through to the international stage.

REgional referee course august 1

 Volleyball Manawatu are running a Regional Referee Course aUGST 1ST.

 

$50 per participant

August 1st 10am-4pm

Palmy Arena 1- JA Russell Lounge (top floor of grandstands)

The course will be offered to 14 max participants.

Regional Referees are required for Central Zone and IPC. VNZ have also suggested that this may become a requirement for NZSSVC Coaches.

Led by National Referee Ray Manson, the day will serve as the Regional Theory Course and Written Exam. 

Engagement in the course and passing the written exam makes the participant a successful Regional Candidate. Regional Qualification also requires assessments at 1st Referee, 2nd Referee and Scoresheet. We will work with successful attendees throughout Central Zone and following events to provide opportunities for assessment.

Full Qualification requires continued engagement and attendance of referee regulation update workshops.

Manawatu Affiliated Clubs attending Central Zone this year will be offered 1 free participant entry.

Referee Development Staff Expression of Interest

Volleyball Manawatu are looking to engage with our Local and Regional Qualified Referees as a way to increase game management and quality of our leagues. This offer will also create opportunities for our players to earn money towards their volleyball fees.

    A Volleyball New Zealand on-line course has been created. This allows for regionally based participants to gain a qualification without travelling to a course.  SIGN UP HERE

    Required for: Senior Premier Tournament, Junior Premier League, Senior Premier League Coaches and players.

    Required for: VNZ Inter-Provencial Championship and NZ National Tour
