ELITE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY BEACH

As part of the  Elite Development Pathway (EDP), the 2025-2026 summer season will be broken down into separate events: Beach Clinics, Beach League, Open and Jr Tournament series and Beach Champs. Players entering these events will use earned points as qualification into a Volleyball Manawatu IPC Beach representative teams. 

Volleyball Manawatū will be selecting representative pairs to compete at the 2026 Beach Inter-Provincial Championships (IPC).

The tournament will be held in Mount Maunganui from 12–14 January 2026, bringing together regional teams from across the country to compete at a national level. This event is a key fixture on the national beach volleyball calendar and offers athletes the opportunity to represent their region in a high-performance beach environment.

Beach IPC is an affiliated event coordinated by Volleyball New Zealand and provides a platform for emerging and elite athletes to gain competitive experience, develop their game, and showcase their skills on the sand.

Volleyball Manawatū is committed to fostering both indoor and beach volleyball pathways, ensuring athletes have access to diverse and meaningful representative opportunities throughout the year. This event also contributes to the growth of coaching, management, and athlete development within the region.

Age-Group Cut Off

Under 19's (Boys and Girls Pairs) cannot turn 19 in 2026 - Born in 2008 or later

Under 17's (Boys and Girls Pairs) cannot turn 17 in 2026 - Born in 2010 or later

Each event within the Beach EDP framework will gain you points towards qualification to attend the IPC Beach Tournament: Mana Beach League, Mana Beach Jr & Open Qualifier 1 &2.

An individual player must earn a minimum of 130 regional points to be considered for selection.  

The top 5 girls and 5 boys teams will earn to chance to represent the region at VNZ Beach Champs.

Qualifier 3 will be used to seed these selected teams into the IPC Beach draw.
